Our Story
Tammy’s journey into the world of wine began in 1996 when she was invited on a wine buying trip to Napa and Sonoma. What started as a single experience quickly became a passion. For more than a decade, Tammy returned regularly to California wine country, learning directly from winemakers, walking vineyards, and discovering how place, people, and craftsmanship shape every bottle.
That curiosity soon turned into personal exploration. Tammy continued traveling to Napa and Sonoma on her own, joining nearly a dozen wine clubs along the way and building relationships with producers whose wines she loved sharing with friends and guests.
In 2019, Tammy and her husband Alan took their first wine-themed river cruise — an experience that opened an entirely new world of wine travel. Since then, their journey has taken them deep into the vineyards of Austria, France, Portugal, Italy, England (yes, England!), and Argentina.
After Alan retired, the two leaned even further into their shared passion for wine and travel. In 2020, Tammy stepped away from her corporate career to immerse herself more fully in the wine world. She began working in the tasting room at Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery while also helping manage the Coastal Wine Trail of Southeastern New England, gaining hands-on experience in wine hospitality and regional wine promotion.
Over the next several years, Tammy began producing wine festivals, organizing tastings, and bringing together wine lovers, winemakers, and artisans from across New England and beyond.
One trip to Italy in 2024 stands out in particular. While traveling through wine country with friends Dave and Stacy, Tammy and Stacy began joking about their future as “Wine Girls,” dreaming aloud about what their own wine business might look like someday. What started as playful conversation over glasses of wine and vineyard views captured something real — a shared love of wine, community, and creating memorable experiences around the table.
That spirit ultimately inspired the vision for Coastal Bubbles + Wine Bar — a welcoming place where great wines, meaningful conversation, and a sense of discovery come together.
Here, every glass poured reflects the same curiosity that started it all.
